People's Choice and Best of Show

People’s Choice and the judges’ pick for Best of Show winners were announced Sept. 27 at the ninth annual Best of Canada Design Awards gala at the Design Exchange in Toronto. This is the first year that both industry professionals and the public have been invited to select their choice of best project and best product either through Canadian Interiors’ website at www.canadianinteriors.com or by fax-in or mail-in ballot. About 600 people voted for their favourite designs. This is also the first year that Best of Show winners were not revealed when all the finalists were published in the July/August issue of Canadian Interiors.

All the winners received glass sculptures created by artist Marta Raczkowska, a graduate from the Sheridan College glass program, Oakville, Ont., and from the glass program at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary. The winning Best of Canada Design project and product designs are on exhibit at IIDEX/NeoCon Sept. 28 and 29, booth 701; at the Design Exchange in Toronto through to Oct. 12; and can also be seen at www.canadianinteriors.com.
