An exhibit on seismic engineering to be held at the Design Exchange in Toronto in November/December 2012 will feature research and cutting edge architecture, models and video to illustrate and convey the world of seismic design to the general public. Organizers are looking for innovative projects from architects/researchers throughout Canada that illustrate this.

Featuring drawings, models and various multimedia platforms, the exhibition aims to convey the cutting-edge character of some of the most creative projects around the world. Curators Effie Bouras of Mechanik Design Office and Professor Ghyslaine McClure, P.Eng, of McGill University are seeking completed building projects and research that engage an innovative approach to seismic design requirements - buildings that have been designed to resist earthquakes in the typically seismic zones of the West Coast, China, Japan, New Zealand, etc.

The deadline for submissions is June 1, 2012. Please send your proposals to info@mechanikllc.com with "DX exhibit" in the subject line.
