The annual design competition for design students sponsored by Muuto, the Scandinavian design company, has already provided the Muuto collection with the Keep table by Thörne and Johnsson (winner 2009) and the Nerd Chair by David Geckeler (2011).

Now Muuto is happy to launch the 2010 winner; Pull Lamp. Pull lamp is designed by Whatswhat, a Stockholm-based design studio founded by three recent graduates from the Konstfack design school.

WHATSWHAT ON THE DESIGN The unique composition of the Pull lamp provides the lamp with a personality that is both organic and distinctively true to its Scandinavian design heritage. The partly exposed, partly hidden cord connects the elements and provides the mechanism to adjust the position of the shade. Adjusting the shade not only changes the light but also the character of the lamp.”

MATERIAL Ash wood, textile cord, textile-covered plastic shade.

DIMENSIONS Height 151 cm, base 31.5 cm.

MUUTO is a Scandinavian design company that joins forces with the leading contemporary Scandinavian designers to create original products with new perspectives. The result is an innovative collection of furniture, lamps and accessories for modern interiors all over the world.. For more info, visit muuto.com
