Haworth renovates Calgary showroom

Michigan-based Haworth, international manufacturers of office furniture and architectural interiors, has announced the renovation of its Western Canadian showroom. Located in Calgary, the new showroom and learning centre, named Environments, will encompass 23,000 square feet and includes three new learning laboratories. The project is being led by designer Eva Maddox of Chicago, with project oversight by architect Peter Busby, of the Perkins + Will office in Vancouver, a well-known leader in sustainable design.

According to Gary Scitthelm, Haworth vice president of business groups, the renovation “will serve as an industry learning centre for North America, providing architects, designers, contractors and other real estate professionals with an extraordinary learning environment.” Scitthelm also noted that the showrooms “sustainable planning lab will focus on the design logic for creating adaptable and more sustainable interiors.”

Visitors to the Haworth Calgary showroom will be able to interact with on-staff experts and view thousands of projects that utilize Haworth’s adaptable workspace methods and products.

The renovation is expected to be completed this summer and is an applicant for the Canada Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
