Waste not want not

Congratulations to InterfaceFLOR Canada and Teknion Corporation both recently honoured by the Recycling Council of Ontario. In the Business/Manufacturing category of the RCOs 2007 Ontario Waste Minimization Awards honouring excellence and commitment to a sustainable environment InterfaceFLOR won a Platinum award and Teknion won Gold.

The awards were presented the evening of Oct. 18 in Toronto as part of Waste Reduction Week in Canada, which ran from Oct. 15 to 21.

The Recycling Council of Ontario is a not-for-profit organization commiteed to minimizing societys impact on the environment by eliminating waste. The RCOs mission is to inform and educate all members of society about the generation of waste, the avoidance of waste, the more efficient use of resources, and the benefits and/or consequences of these activities. Since its inception in 1978, the RCO has actively assisted municipalities, corporations, other organizations and individuals in reducing their waste.
