1–SIT AND SOAK

The award-winning Segreta, from Italian company Abis, is both an oversize bathtub and a comfortable seat. A padded rectangular panel can be moved, by means of a simple rotation, from a vertical position on one side of the tub to a horizontal position above it. The tub is made of acrylic resin; the seat is covered in a waterproof material. The outer covering is constructed of wooden panels. www.abisbagno.it

2–CIRCLE GAME

Dutch architect Wiel Arets has designed a bathroom range for Alessi that is both radical and restful. Ilbagnoalessi Dot features oblique shapes, with a recurring circle motif. Washbasins, bathtubs, sanitary ware and shower cabin are produced and distributed by the Swiss company Laufen – as are furniture pieces (mirrored cabinets, wall closets, etc.) and accessories (soap dishes, glass holders, etc.). Faucets are produced and distributed by Oras from Finland.

3–BUILDING BLOCKS

Designed by Roviras y Torrente for Barcelona-based Estoli, Modular Modules is a versatile furniture construction system that creates customized storage space. Three different aluminum profiles can be mixed and matched to achieve the desired look and functions. A specially designed stainless steel washbasin attaches easily to a pre-tooled panel from below. The small dimensions and modularity of the furniture allow the user to create different compositions to suit changing needs or space requirements. www.estoli.com

1–CURVES AHEAD For Italian company Ceramica Flaminia, French designer Patrick Norguet has created an awardwinning sanitary-ware collection composed of toilet, bidet, and bench or wall-hung basins in three different sizes. Mono is characterized by great thickness and sculptural shapes; it’s completed by Noke, a tap range with compact lines. www.ceramicaflaminia.it

2–BEARING FRUIT A new pedestal washbasin has been added to the Pear series, created by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola for Agape. The soft, sculptural volume is monolithic in form and can serve as a freestanding piece or can be placed against the wall. Made from Exmar, it’s available in white and in a two-tone version with satin-finished grey exterior. www.agapedesign.it

3–SMOOTH OPERATORS Nacho Lavernia and Alberto Cinefuegos designed Transit – an award-winning collection of two different toilets and a bidet – for young Spanish company Sanico. Toilets (with interiors of hygienic porcelain) and bidets are made in white, cream and anthracite Stonefeel, a mineral resin developed by Sanico. Stonefeel fuses with porcelain to be converted into a single, solid piece in which each material contributes its qualities – porcelain giving cleanliness and hygiene, Stonefeel a silky finish and ability to form shapes almost impossible to achieve in porcelain. www.sanico.es

5–IN PLAIN SIGHT Quebec company Wetstyle recently introduced its C Collection of vanities, inspired by the concept of a beauty lab. Transparency is key: cleansing products and cosmetics are meant to be exhibited on the shelves, and water pipes are left apparent. A stainless steel console in mirror or brushed finish supports a countertop made of Wetmar (a fusion of natural stone and plastic) in glossy or matte finish; the countertop is molded in one piece that incorporates the sink. Various lengths and sink models are available, along with a mirror. www.wetstyle.ca
