Museum store sets up shop in Keilhauer showroom
On June 17 and 18, Keilhauer’s New York showroom was the setting for an exclusive preview of MoMA Design Store’s new merchandise for Fall 2008.
When MoMA Design Store was looking for a suitable location to showcase their Fall/Holiday merchandise in a sneak preview to the media, their public relations consultant, Susan Becher, Susan Becher Public Relations, suggested that they set up their displays in the Keilhauer showroom at 200 Lexington Avenue. Over the course of two days, MoMA representatives met with press personnel to present the items that will be available for sale at the MoMA Design Store later in the year. That was four years ago, and the event has been repeated every year since.
This year, however, Keilhauer decided to host an evening event in the showroom for approximately 400 architects and designers, so that they would be among the privileged few previewing the new merchandise being offered by MoMA Design Store.
The evening also presented a wonderful opportunity for architects and designers to see some of Keilhauer’s newest and most popular products. Many chose to test drive the Sguig Syncro chair, the company’s latest task chair offering, and to take away a gift set of Sguig-branded ceramic cups, compliments of Keilhauer.
In attendance at the soire was Mike Keilhauer, President, Keilhauer. “We are honored that MoMA Design Store chooses our showroom for their annual press preview,” he says. “I believe that adding the architects and designers to the audience makes good sense for both organizations.”
