Safety 1st Connects with the DX
A box on wheels with a lid was the pram of the past. Modern parents expect their babies to travel in a flexible and convenient kind of comfort and style. As of today, Safety 1st has upped the ante.
Through the CONNECT design competition, post-secondary design students are given a creative brief that depicts a real-world challenge. This year Design Exchange was pleased to partner with Safety 1st to create a brief that encouraged young designers and future parents to create the next generation of trendy, functional and affordable strollers.
Judges have chosen the winning designs from across Canada for the stroller design competition. Judges were interested in seeing that students were looking at fresh and innovative takes on what is currently on the market. Winning student work recognizes that good design delivers a desirable product at an attainable price.
Safety 1st will award cash prizes and certificates presented at a ceremony and an exhibition at Design Exchange. Winners are recognized on DX’s website, and there is the potential for students to see winning design concepts come to life. Visit www.dx.org to learn more.
Submissions from the up and coming Canadian industrial designers will be on display from May 8th – May 31 on the ground floor of the Design Exchange. Admission is free.
