Omicron accquires BCMP Architects

Creating opportunity amidst the economic downturn, British Columbia’s largest integrated design and construction company, Omicron, has acquired BCMP Architects, a prominent Calgary architecture, interior design, planning and real estate development services firm.

Effective immediately, Omicron and BCMP create Western Canada’s largest integrated design and construction firm, with some 200 designers and builders. The acquisition responds to high market demand for integrated design and construction services. This integrated delivery method is known to reduce cost of delivery, speed schedules and increase quality. Both firms believe the ability to offer turn-key services across Western Canada will enhance client value tremendously.

“With the acquisition of BCMP, Omicron continues to build and expand its core strengths and realizes its desire to firmly create a presence in the Alberta market” says Bill Tucker, Managing Principal at Omicron. “We are offering a comprehensive integrated service for our clients who are demanding even more in these tougher economic times from their design and construction partners across Western Canada. This acquisition positions Omicron to serve our clients better.”

“For employees, customers and suppliers, this deal is excellent news,” says Herman Bell, BCMP Managing Principal and Co-Founder. “In particular, BCMP is now in a position to offer more to our clients through partnering with a company with compatible values, additional capabilities and exciting growth strategies.”

Omicron and BCMP have been strengthened significantly by merging two compatible organizations that share philosophies of professionalism, integrity, high quality of work and superior customer service. Both organizations believe that this move will enhance client value, increase staff opportunity and provide access to larger and more varied projects across Western Canada while maintaining personalized service on jobs of all sizes. An extended transition program will see the two firms eventually blend into one company under the Omicron brand.
