Oval goes for the gold
The Richmond Olympic Oval, designed by Cannon Design Architecture Incorporated for the City of Richmond for the XXI Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, has been shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival Award’s Structural Design Award. Shortlisted nominees include entries from the U.K., Japan and Indonesia, among others.
Award recipients will be announced at the World Architecture Festival in Barcelona, which takes place November 4-6. It is the biggest event and awards program of its kind in the world, celebrating architecture and design and honouring architects from around the world
Cannon Design’s B.C.-led sport practice assembled a team that included the structural engineering firm Fast + Epp for the project.
