Scavolini in Shanghai

Scavolini – leader in the Italian kitchen market sector since 1984 and distinguished for its high-quality products made entirely in Italy – continues to expand abroad.

The company has set its sights on Shanghai, where a new showroom was recently inaugurated. The new showroom – a true outpost – confirms the company’s growing interest in the emerging markets such as China, India, Africa and the Middle East.

The event marks a significant step in Scavolini’s international strategy, a venture that began over 20 years ago when the company inaugurated its first sales outlet in Greece. Scavolini has come a long way since then: the company now boasts around 300 showrooms in more than 50 countries on all five continents, in addition to over 1,000 sales outlets in Italy alone. A relentless activity that sees an average of 30 new openings a year outside Italy.

Displaying a high degree of sophistication, the Shanghai showroom covers some 500 square metres  on two levels, and is located in a district teeming with numerous design and building sector brands.

Inside the showroom, Scavolini’s 100% “made in Italy” style and quality is reflected in the 12 kitchens on display, ranging from modern models like Crystal Texture by Karim Rashid and Scenery designed by King&Miranda, to the more classic models such as Absolute Classic Grand Relais and Baccarat, designed by Gianni Pareschi.

The new sales outlet displays the customary high quality and unmistakable glam style – in line with the latest international design trends – that typifies all Scavolini showrooms throughout Italy and worldwide.

This important showroom is merely the first step towards Scavolini’s expansion in China, and will soon be followed by another showroom due to open in Zhongshan.

As always, the Company featured prominently in the most important international trade exhibitions during the course of the year. During 2010, Scavolini participated in the following events: Swissbau in Basel, Maison & Objet in Paris, IDS in Toronto, Batibouw in Brussels, KBB in Birmingham, Habitare in Helsinki, ISaloni Worldwide in Moscow, Dubai Index, alongside Eurocucina in Milan.
