Farewell to a friend

It is with great sadness that we we mark the passing of Paul Oberman, president and CEO of Woodcliffe Landmark Properties, as a result of an aviation accident on March 7.

Paul was a tremendous supporter of the design and arts community. As a board member of the Design Exchange (DX), he was actively involved in its long-term strategic plan and a tremendous advocate for the preservation of its heritage building.

Says DX board chairmanTim Gilbert, “Paul was a visionary leader and inspired us all to achieve greatness. His passing leaves a huge void inour community. His expertise, time, enthusiasm and friendship have been invaluable to us and will be deeply missed.”

“Paul one of the most generous people I’ve ever encountered. He never hesitated to support DX initiatives and give his time and financial support to our organization,” recalls Samantha Sannella, the president and CEO of DX. “We collaborated on several projects and he always had the biggest ideas in the group. Our entire team will miss him greatly.”

Heartfelt sympathies are extended to his family, friends and Woodcliffe team.

A permanent memorial website is in the works at www.pauloberman.ca. Those who would like to leave any notes of remembrance can visit the In Memory Facebook Page: http://bit.ly/eitjHD.
