Allsteel wins IIDA Presidential Commendation
Allsteel Inc. was the recipient of a special Presidential Commendation for its Inspire seating in International Interior Design Association’s (IIDA) 2011 Middle East Office Awards Competition. Allsteel was honored in the competition’s Education Seating category on May 17 at The Office Exhibition, Dubai.
“It’s an honor to have Inspire recognized as a leading product in the global office furnishings market,” said Scott Savage, HNI Region Manager, EMEA. “We are proud to have been selected by this distinguished panel for Inspire’s innovation, function, and aesthetic advancements, and to be recognized alongside such a distinguished group of international colleagues.”
Inspire reflects Allsteel’s careful study of the higher education sector, and how seating impacts the learning process. The mission was to create a chair that could offer uncompromising comfort for hours of sitting but one that also could add a dynamic aesthetic, lasting performance, and represent a measurable purchase value. Inspire has delivered on all counts, plus incorporates sustainable attributes.
The awards were judged by Julio Braga, Principal, IA New York; Alejandro de la Vega Zulueta, and Ricardo Warman Martinez, Principals, entasis Architects, Mexico City; Bill Grant, President, Grant Design Collaborative, Atlanta; and, Joey Shimoda, Principal, Shimoda Design Group, Los Angeles.
