Award-winning Ernest Wotton

Ernest Wotton, the Toronto lighting consultant and designer, has been awarded the 2011 IES Medal, the “highest honor” of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America. This is only the second time the IES Medal has come to Canada. It recognizes his “meritorious achievement that has furthered the profession, art and knowledge of illuminating engineering.”

Wotton has also been awarded the 2011 President’s Medal of the (UK) Society of Light and Lighting in recognition of his “significant and lifetime contribution to lighting.” He is the first recipient of the President’s Medal.

In 2005, Wotton received the Silver Medal of the (UK) Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers for his “services to lighting.”
