Branding and interior design firm Igloodgn has been selected as one of the coveted designers participating in the Interior Design Show’s (IDS) concept space onsite at IDS 2013, January 24 to January 27, 2013. Always a must-see attraction, this year’s concept space will explore offices and workspaces, titled, How Do You Work?, in follow up to last year’s popular How Do You Live? exhibit. Igloodgn is one of five design teams who have been tasked to design the interiors of a 160 square foot shipping container. Their challenge: to bring to life what they envision as a dynamic and innovative workspace.
“We are honoured to have been chosen to participate in the Interior Design Show’s concept space this year,” says Alain Courchesne, principal and interior designer, Igloodgn. “At Igloodgn, we believe in creating spaces that inspire, and we look forward to sharing our vision of a work space that does just that. People spend 90% of their lives working; the space we work in has to be beautiful. Period.”
Titled The Green House, Igloodgn’s concept space will be transformed into the inspired working environment of an irreverent botanist, studying the life of plants. The shipping container will morph into an atelier-like space that materializes the creative and scientific process of a botanist, mixing high-end design with romantic florals.
“In designing this space we felt influenced by the parallel between the botanist’s work process and our company’s own processes, which both contain a deeply organic approach to design,” says Anna Abbruzzo, principal and interior designer, Igloodgn.
The Igloodgn team will bring their keen stylist’s eye to curate the very best in furniture and fittings, utilizing tiles and painted wood flooring alongside refined Italian furnishings to create The Green House. Igloodgn will maintain its reputation for being experts in luxury interiors by featuring renowned brands Cassina, CeramicaBardelli, xilo1934, and Nemo lighting.
