Sarah Turner’s winning Flight

 The latest furniture design by Sarah Turner, principal at Kitchener, Ontario-based Head Turner Designs, is the winner of the 2013 “Emerge Italy” Design Competition. Winner in the residential sector, Turner’s Flight easy chair is a design inspired by classical forms, ergonomics and the iconic Black House Bird of Charles and Ray Eames. Flight is a seating solution rooted deeply from American classical design with a nod to Italian minimalism. The chair will be produced by an Italian furniture company and exhibited at the 2014 Salone Del Mobile in Milan, Italy.

ABOUT SARAH TURNER

Sarah Turner is a Canadian interior designer currently studying a Masters of Interior Design in Florence, Italy at the Florence Institute of Design International. She has been working in the design industry for 10 years, and is the principal of Head Turner Designs, founded in Kitchener, Ontario. in 2008. She holds a BA honours degree in Interior Design, is a member of ARIDO, IDC, and has successfully completed her NCIDQ certification. In addition, she is a professor at Conestoga College in Kitchener, teaching the studio design courses in the Interior Decorating Diploma Program.
