DIRTT cleans up
DIRTT was recently awarded the Canadian Construction Association’s (CCA) International Business Award for 2012 in recognition of its innovative and cooperative approach to international markets.
The CCA International Business Award recognizes the outstanding activities, programs, or accomplishments of a Canadian-based business or association active in the construction industry in the area of international business or trade.
“We are extremely pleased to have been recognized by CCA for our innovative interior construction solutions and our success in markets outside of Canada,” says DIRTT president Scott Jenkins. “We are proud that as a Canadian construction company we have found success in Canada, the United States and now internationally in new markets such as the Middle East and South East Asia.”
Based in Calgary, DIRTT began operations in 2005. Today, 80 per cent of its sales are outside of Canada. DIRTT operates using distributed manufacturing, made possible by its factories in Phoenix, Arizona and Savannah, Georgia in addition to its Calgary facility. Green Leaning Centers (GLC) featuring DIRTT’s solutions are also found in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. In January 2013 DIRTT opened the first GLC outside of North America in Beirut, with others being planned for Seoul and Mumbai. In the past DIRTT has completed international projects in Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia.
