Spinneybeck sensations
Spinneybeck – the world’s leading supplier of full grain, aniline dyed Italian leather for upholstery and architectural applications – is introducing new leather tile products from London-based designer Genevieve Bennett. Spinneybeck has been collaborating with Bennett since 2007 and are now officially introducing her newest Studio Collection, featuring Layered Relief, Debossed and Laser-engraved leather tiles.
These seven new tile designs offer a decorative element, depth and a sculptural aspect to vertical applications, such as walls, cabinets, doors and headboards.
All tiles are constructed of Spinneybeck’s belting leather, 100 per cent vegetable tanned, aniline dyed leather with a smooth tight grain texture created from a blend of mimosa and chestnut. Available in 26 colors from neutrals to brights, belting leather features a smooth, tight grain texture, and a light, water-resistant finish, ideal for hospitality, contract and the residential market.
LAYERED RELIEF TILES
Layered Tiles from the Genevieve Bennett Studio Collection combine the characteristics of natural leather with a geometric pattern. Maze mirrors Chinese lattice wooden screens and parterre-style gardens of French palaces of the 18th century, creating a robust product that appears delicate. Facet was inspired by cut diamonds and precious stones: taking a faceted shape in its simplest form and arranging tonal leathers to create a trompe l’oeil 3-D effect. Harlequin reflects traditional brogue shoes, specifically the punched hole detail around the seams of these shoes, combined with a simple repeating geometric to create rich detail and striking overall pattern.
DEBOSSED TILES
Influenced by Art Deco textiles and jewelry and vintage Balinese batik textiles, Star Flower unites floral design with geometric structure. Tiger Flower is inspired by early-19th-century vintage silk designs and textiles from the Arts and Crafts era, which are rich and opulent with floral and foliage motifs densely intertwined.
LASER-ENGRAVED TILES
The precise art of laser engraving compliments natural full grain belting leather, adding an artful element to vertical surfaces, including walls, headboards and custom furniture. Pintuck and Parasol Trellis are the newest of the laser-engraved patterns from the Genevieve Bennett Studio Collection.
