Duravit’s new Happy D.2 series
Duravit has reinterpreted the iconic Happy D. series with a refined new collection: Happy D.2. The original Happy D. range by Sieger Design first launched in 1998 and became an instant classic due to its unique design that was at once simple, practical, and distinctive. In Happy D.2, Duravit has softened the signature “D” shaped ceramics and bathtubs, as well as added a new linen furniture finish and gentle LED illuminated mirror cabinets with an innovative integrated sound system. Offering 13 bathtubs, 12 washbasins, and fresh styles for toilets, bidets, and cabinets, Happy D.2 introduces a modern, elegant update to its original counterpart.
Says Duravit USA president Tim Schroeder, “The Happy D.2 series offers the distinct character of the original range while showcasing a move towards a more simplified architectural design. By creating a softer aesthetic, Happy D.2 provides further options for our growing, diverse market.”
The Happy D.2 collection’s signature “D” shaped bathtubs, washbasins, and toilets have been updated with particularly fine rims, which create a soft and elegant form. The new bathtub also features a comfortable, ergonomic backrest slope that provides comfort for those who wish to recline and the option of fitting in various whirl systems. The washbasins, toilets and bidets have also been reinterpreted in a chic way. The floor-standing toilets and bidets, as well as the wall-mounted models, have gently domed SoftClose toilet lids with a sleek, flat appearance.
The Happy D.2 bathroom furniture presents a refreshed version of the Happy D. cabinets with slimmer consoles and new finish options. The cabinets feature wooden consoles and the visible front edge measures only half an inch high. A variety of new finishes are also available, including the distinctive linen décor finish, which offers a natural, textured appearance to the line.
A further innovative feature of the updated bathroom furniture design is its selection of matching mirror cabinets. Each of the mirrors is fitted with advanced technology that allows for indirect LED light, producing an attractive glow while reducing glare. The mirror cabinets also come equipped with an easy to use, optional sound system. This system can be used with any Bluetooth-compatible device to stream music, and delivers outstanding sound quality.
