The newest collection from Barcelona-based rug company Ninimarquina is a collaboration between New York graphic artist Miton Glaser – one of the most influential creators of our time – and Nanimarquina founder Nani Marquina.
Behind this collection lies an extensive investigation of colours, shades and fabrics, with the purpose of finding the perfect balance to express Glaser’s message.
The collection consists of two designs: African Pattern, and Shakespeare in Africa. The former puts a modern spin on tribal arts while evoking a confluence of American, Spanish and African cultures; the latter uses the African Pattern as its foundation, but is strategically shaded to reveal a portrait of the Bard.
