Alejandro Cardenas designs for KnollTextiles

For summer 2013, KnollTextiles is launching the first collection of interior fabrics designed by Alejandro Cardenas.  Characterized by its lively colours and graphic, modern imagery, the collection consists of three upholstery designs:  Soon, Glider and Biscayne.

Cardenas is a man of multiple talents – artist, designer, illustrator and film director – and has now created a collection of interior textiles for Knoll, rooted in his admiration for early modernist design principles. The textile patterns have diverse influences; Soon was inspired by a song of the same name by one of Cardenas’ favorite bands; Glider’s repeating lines and shapes represent the feeling of gliding over a landscape; and Biscayne is named after Key Biscayne in Florida.
