Everything the Traffic will allow

The new Traffic collection, presented at the last Salone del Mobile, designed by the German designer Konstantin Grcic, is now available.

Traffic is the first Magis collection of furniture using upholstery. The company is moving in new directions in order to expand its catalogue. The new family of products comprises an armchair, a two-seater sofa, two benches, a chaise longue and a platform.

Konstantin Grcic proposes a creation in line with the spirit of the contemporary concepts of the brand:” The correlation between the three-dimensional line drawing of the metal rod and the geometric volumes of the cushions marks a significant shift from the common connotation of wire furniture. The unassuming simplicity of its conception impart a pleasant casualness. The refinements of detailing and carefully tailored proportions stimulate a resounding elegance.”

According to Eugenio Perazza, president and founder of Magis, the collection can be defined “as the great challenge that Magis has set itself: to employ one of the most humble materials on the market that is wire and to try, through this, to obtain objects with a certain aesthetic quality. It is a set of various elements conceived as simple rod cages in which the cushions for the seat, backrest and armrests are easily accommodated.

ABOUT KONSTANTIN GRCIC & MAGIS
The German designer Konstantin Grcic is one of the players who dominate the contemporary design scene. His collaboration with Magis began in 2003 with the Chair_One, which has now become an icon due to its bold and graphic design. Following this success, Grcic continues to work with the company planning a series of products with, at the same time, a rigorous and sober style. In 2009 Magis presented 360 ° Family, Grcic’s collection dedicated to the world of office: a swivel chair, a table, a stool and two containers with an industrial and functional style. The chair Venice (2011), made of die-cast aluminum using the same technology of Chair_One, presents harmonious and flowing lines inspired by the city of Venice. In 2012 Magis launched The Wild Bunch, a family of products in natural solid beech consisting of two swivel bar stools, two tables and a shelving system.
