RGD & Rotman School of Management seek ‘DesignThinker of the Year’

For the first time, the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) and the Rotman School of Management have partnered to recognize Canada’s 2013 ‘DesignThinker of the Year’. Designers of all disciplines are invited to submit nominations of a Canadian corporate leader who utilizes outstanding creativity and design thinking to drive innovation and business success.

The ‘DesignThinker of the Year’ will be honoured at DesignThinkers 2013 – Canada’s largest conference for visual communicators, taking place November 6 and 7 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The conference welcomes an audience of over 1,300 with speakers who include Disney’s Global Creativity & Innovation Director; Patagonia’s VP of E-Commerce; Adobe’s VP of User Experience and the Head of Mobile Design at Thomson Reuters. The award recipient will also be profiled in Rotman Management magazine, distributed to 13,000.

The jury includes:

• Alan Dye, Executive Creative Director, Apple, San Francisco, CA

• Mark Leung, Director, DesignWorks, Rotman School of Management, Toronto, ON

• Bruce Nussbaum, Author, Creative Intelligence, New York, NY

Nomination criteria include a response (either in video or written form) to a variety of questions and a selection of examples/images that support the nominee’s effective use of design.
