Quadrangle Architects’ excellent accessibility

Quadrangle Architects’ King Street studio in Toronto has won a 2013 International Association for Universal Design Award in the Housing and Architecture category. The awards ceremony will be held today at the Fuji Zerox R&D Square in Yokohama, Japan.

Says Quadrangle’s managing principal Susan Ruptash, “This project grew out of our desire to ‘walk the talk’ and demonstrate to our clients that custom-designed spaces are both comfortable, purposeful and beautiful. We are very excited to receive this international recognition and hope that it will prompt more people to become aware of how accessibility can be seamlessly integrated into their spaces.”

Next week, Ruptash will be participating in “Travers: Stories from the Built Environment” – a lecture to discuss accessibility and inclusive design in the urban environment – which takes place at OCAD University.

The date is Nov. 27; the time is 7–8:30 p.m.; the location is 49 McCaul St., Toronto
