Edmonton designer creates Arctic-inspired furniture collection
Inspired by the stark beauty of Canada’s arctic wilderness, Edmonton-native Tim Antoniuk, the award-winning designer behind Canadian-made Question Objects, launches his first line of modern tables and case goods furniture exclusively at Urban Mode.
“We are very excited to welcome Question Objects to Urban Mode,” says Myrlene Sundberg, founder of Urban Mode. “The functional and stylish pieces offer good quality and affordable designs and allow us to support our industries because the collections are designed and manufactured in Canada.”
Produced in Edmonton, using sustainably sourced methods, the new collection with three distinctive series, Arctic Shoreline, Landscape and Leaf, are influenced by the visual elements of the Great North with its contradicting landscape of dense forests and vast snow-covered plains. Innovative techniques include a highly environmentally sustainable oil/wax finish that enhances the heirloom-like quality of the products and improves the durability of the pieces. The anaglyptic detailing in the cabinet drawers adds a subtle elegance to each piece.
