L A M P’s lighting design competition call for entries
Are you ready to get your L A M P on? The ‘Lighting Architecture Movement Project’ (L A M P) is preparing for its second annual international lighting design competition and is sending out a call for entries to designers worldwide to participate. The design event will be held this November in Vancouver and the deadline for entries is August 15, 2014. If you think you have a ‘bright’ idea, check out the competition details at http://www.welovelamp.ca/
Run by founders Annika Hagen and Nicole Fox, the L A M P lighting design competition showcases light and form through the lens of architectural design, and is offering participants the opportunity to exercise their talents for the chance to be part of a growing must-see exhibition that connects the local community with dynamic design. The competition challenges designers to approach their lamps with the guidance of a singular word; this year’s word is Fibre.
A jury panel of five top local designers and architects will base their decisions on the design’s integration of theme, the use of sustainable material and LED lights, originality and potential for marketability, and economic manufacturing. The winner will receive a critique and review from FontanaArte’s creative director, one of L A M P’s sponsors and leaders in the lighting design industry.
