Canada’s own Wetstyle: three collections (Glacier, Frame and Tulip), three stories
Wetstyle is a Montreal-based designer, manufacturer and marketer of design driven soaking bathtubs, sinks and furniture. Following is a guide to three of its latest collections.
Wetstyle has added to its list of honours in design with a Good Design Award for the Glacier collection. This marks the second year in a row that the company has won this prestigious award. In 2013, it was recognized in the same category for its Couture collection.
Blending seamlessly into its surroundings, Glacier features a Zero-threshold entrance and a concealed linear-style drain that can be fully recessed into the floor or installed above. The design is a modern and elegant expression for the shower, ideal for universal design-minded hospitality and residential applications.
Glacier is the first ADA and CSA compliant zero-threshold shower base that provides easy accessibility via a non-slip surface made of Wetmar Bio material, while maintaining a high level of design aesthetic and functionality.
“The stream of accolades we’ve received proves that our products represent some of the best design in the category,” says Wetstyle president Mark Wolinsky. “The Glacier collection alone has won multiple awards, and I am proud that our thoughtful approach to accessible design is being recognized.”
Glacier is available in the industry’s only True High Gloss and matte finishes.
Traditional Japanese design principles combining minimalism with maximum functionality were the inspiration behind the Frame bathroom storage collection from Wetstyle. All elements, seen and unseen, have a distinct purpose and function aimed at providing a sense of convenience and delight. A wide selection of materials combine to show off the attention paid to designing the features, finishes, materials and flexibility of the collection.
Powdercoated Canadian aluminum colour finishes within the Frame collection are accompanied by accents of natural wood and lacquered glass finishes to match the vanity options. Additional features include premium LED lighting, mirror defogger and flush-mounted electrical outlets. Deep storage mirror cabinets are available in recessed or surface mounted configurations. Made using the highest quality materials and craftsmanship, a variety of sizes are available allowing an unparalleled level of customization.
Fit for two and offering a subtle nod to the traditional, the Tulip collection embodies the simple and organic shape of a blossoming tulip in the early morning sun. Subtly rounded edges along the rim circle two ergonomically minded sitting positions. Tulip provides ultimate relaxation for those looking to rest their head back and soak in nature’s beauty.
Designed for Wetstyle by award-winning designer Joël Dupras, the Tulip collection is the newest addition to the portfolio of designs Dupras continues to contribute to the brand.
All WETSTYLE products are manufactured by hand with Wetmar Bio, the industry’s most eco-friendly material that is non-porous and naturally resistant to stains, bacteria and UV rays. Its thermo-insulating properties permit less energy consumption to warm bath water and provide a higher level of heat retention than traditional acrylic-based products. This proprietary composite delivers strength, durability and aesthetically premium design. Available in the industry’s only True High Gloss, matte and Dual1 finishes, each model features an integrated slot design hidden overflow precluding the he need for external plumbing additions.
