Inform Contract helps make Vancouver’s new Ronald McDonald House BC a beautiful place

This summer, Inform Contract was honoured to be part of the opening, in Vancouver, of the new Ronald McDonald House BC’s stunning building designed by Michael Green Architecture (MGA). Inform Contract played an integral role in sourcing the interior furniture and lighting with factories that were able to provide high-end furniture to fit within the limited budget.

Inform Contract worked closely with the architect to help source beautiful products that would allow families to feel at home and complement the architectural design of the facility. Manufacturers that participated in this project include Herman Miller, Andreu World, Kasthall, Viccarbe, Frandsen Lighting, G Romano and Hay.

Says Michael Green, MGA architect and principal, “MGA really enjoyed the process of working with the Inform Contract team to achieve a project that exceeded all of our expectations. Ronald McDonald House BC is a very special client and everyone involved has put their heart into the process and the outcome. We are grateful that Inform Contract joined the supplier team and are very proud of the results. We are confident that the families will enjoy the house and furniture for years to come and that the design will provide the nurturing environment they so deserve.”

The new Ronald McDonald House BC opened for its first family on July 7, 2014, and serves as a “home away from home” for sick kids and their families. The facility can now hold up to 73 families comfortably each night, which is about 2,500 families per year.

Says Richard Pass, CEO Ronald McDonald House BC, “Since 1983, we have opened our doors and arms to overwhelmed families who travel to Vancouver in search of life-saving treatment for their seriously ill child. It’s more than just a place to stay, RMH BC is a place for families to heal better, together. Inform Contract’s contribution to this project was welcomed with open arms.”
