Concrete + Kebony wood = smart new Spine modular furniture

For Norwegian company Kebony, designer Karoline Sandnes Bommen of San Francisco – with the help of Ingvild W. Moerk – has come up with a concept for furniture that combines two materials: concrete and sustainable Kebony wood. The result is Spine modular concrete furniture.

Each module is built to look like a spine disc, with the frame molded from concrete and filled with Kebony wood, a sustainable alternative to hardwood. The modules can be combined to make an infinite amount of furniture pieces, often used to create unique benches outdoors. Whether pushed together in a circular form, lined in a row or scattered in a deliberate fashion, Spine pieces add artistic flair to any establishment.
