The latest lamp from Italy’s Formabilio.com

Designed by Paolo Mangarano for Formabilio.com, Vialattea is a pendant lamp that immediately becomes the “protagonist” of an interior thanks to its independent character – unconventional and powerful. Its unconventional design comes from the rich variety of the lamp shades finishes, different shapes and the “essentiality” of the metal tube structure.

Technical information: varnished steel ceiling rose; fabric lampshade and varnished steel lamp socket; available in two different colours, black and red.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Paolo Mangarano was born in Catania, and he graduated in Architecture in Florence, where he began his career collaborating with many architecture, product and graphic design studios, until he opened one of his own with some colleagues: ONarch.

Now he works between Florence and Catania, mainly dealing with architecture and design. He has participated in events such as the London Design Week, the Florence Design Week and the Milan Fuorisalone. Design for him has been an “accidental clash,” but since he started to draw he never stopped. He draws every day; most of the time it remains a sketch, sometimes it becomes a real object. The attempt is to create something innovative, a shape, material or use, often starting from objects that exist already. Says he, “Formabilio perfectly reflects the mechanisms and potential of the network, as a new tool, fast and simple. To ‘do’ design in all its phases: design, research, production and marketing.”
