Vinifera concept wine bar at Toronto Pearson International Airport wins international design award

OTG Management is proud to announce that its Vinifera concept at Toronto Pearson International Airport was awarded the International Council of Shopping Center’s (ICSC) coveted 2014 Maple Leaf Design Award. The award recognizes cutting-edge and innovative solutions in retail store design.

“When OTG began working with the GTAA at Toronto Pearson, it was very clear to us that outstanding design was core to their business,” says Mike Ross, director, Commercial Development for the GTAA. “Our new OTG restaurants have greatly improved the passenger experience at Toronto Pearson and we are very proud to have them as strategic partners in our airport’s food and beverage offer.”

Opened in the fall of 2013 in Toronto Pearson’s Terminal 1, Vinifera offers the traveller an unparalleled and innovative experience featuring award-winning cuisine, immersive design and cutting-edge technology. Offering small plates and 85 wines available by the glass, which have been expertly curated by culinary partner and master sommelier John Szabo, Vinifera provides travelers the quintessential OTG experience.

With a soaring fall-inspired orange-glass facade and customizable iPad platform, consisting of visual menus, flight tracker and language support options, Vinifera is a lively and chic wine bar offering comfortable gate-side seating.

“We are thrilled to be recognized with this award,” says Justin Blatstein, OTG director of Aura. “It has been an honour to work with Toronto Pearson to create an environment that both enhances the atmosphere of the airport and elevates the customer experience.”

The dining program at Toronto Pearson International Airport brings the distinct cultural tastes of Toronto right to the travelling public. Traveler anxiety is minimized as passengers can enjoy refreshing dining options crafted by talented, regional chefs that position each terminal as a true gateway to the city in which it dwells. OTG is at the forefront of reinventing the modern airport and travel experience through thoughtful integrations of technology, full-service chef-driven restaurants and striking design. This groundbreaking design work has set an international standard for airports and terminals throughout the world.
