Where have all the flowers gone? Vernor Panton’s FlowerPot table lamp makes a comeback

In 1968 the students’ revolts in Paris, Rome and the United States were overthrowing stiff, old values, and initiating the Flower Power generation of peace, love and harmony. That same year, Stanley Kubrick showed us all the future, in 2001: A Space Odyssey, which featured the Verner Panton’s classic Panton Chair (1959/60) for Vitra, and man was soon to set foot on the moon.

In the world of design the following year, Paton’s colourful, playful FlowerPot – in both pendant and table versions – popped up at restaurants and exhibitions, and very soon, in everybody’s homes. The FlowerPot, with its two semi-circular spheres facing each other, has proved its lasting design quality and is just as much a synonym of our time now.

Fitting, then, that &tradition has reintroduced the FlowerPot table lamp. In 5 versions: polished, matt black, matt white, copper and brass.
