Introducing the Clarina lamp, designed by Nicols Calandri for Formabilio

Clarina is a floor lamp with solid beech wood base and stem with hand-rubbed natural oil treatment, while the conical lampshade is made of cotton fabric. A curved metal tube connects the top of the lampshade to the stem and holds the cable that embraces the structure to the rectangular base, drawing a series of doodles. The design reinterprets the primordial forms of the classic floor lamp with the addition of a strong personality. A lighting solution with generous proportion and minimal lines, which is perfect positioned next to a seat as reading light, while in the living room or in the bedroom is the floor lamp able to create the right atmosphere.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Nicolás Calandri was born in 1985 in Etruria, a little town in Argentina. After High School he moved to Córdoba, where he earned his degree in Industrial Design at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba in 2010. First, he worked in different places not very much related to design while, in the meantime, he was also working on his own design projects. In 2013, he cerated the Infiniti Design contest Under Revolution Chairs and late that year he finally decided to work full time as a freelance product designer. He thinks that design brings better products to the people, it is a tool for manufacturing companies and to him design is a fundamental part of his life.

Says Calandri “I think that Formabilo is an innovative business model, a great opportunity for young designers and a link between producers, designers and customers.”
