BLOW WINDS, WINDS, AND CRACK YOUR CHEEKS
For an updated version of Shakespeare’s King Lear in Montreal, Mazen Chamseddine Architect created an uncommonly powerful setting in an old barracks, using only three elements: an immense wooden structure (nowhere land), 175 stacks of newspaper (labyrinth, cemetery, barren heath and audience seating) and a concrete block (gravestone at the centre of an unforgiving universe).
