Coming to Don Mills in Toronto: a new community called The Ravine

Urban Capital and ALIT Developments are giving one of Toronto’s historic and picturesque neighbourhoods a facelift. Named after its majestic setting, The Ravine is a master-planned community set alongside Brookbanks Park and Deerlick Creek in Toronto’s York Mills and Don Mills area. Set on over 13 rolling acres overlooking the Don Valley, The Ravine offers superior design and a convenient urban location steps away from nature.

Located at 1215 York Mills Rd., The Ravine community will total seven distinct buildings at completion, carefully placed next to hundreds of acres of hiking trails and tranquil parklands. The master-plan development will include two new public parks and will dedicate over two acres of land for ravine conservation.

The inaugural phase will launch this spring with expected occupancy scheduled for November 2018. The Ravine Phase I will offer a 29 storey tower comprised of 336 units.

Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic mastery of roughhewn stone and cascading canopies, The Ravine makes use of natural materials. The architectural vision comes courtesy of Rafael + Bigauskas, with bright, modern interiors by award-winning Cecconi Simone. Floorplans range from one-bedroom suites to three-bedroom + den family units, and are sized from 455 to 1,509 square feet. Thoughtfully designed layouts are complemented by nine-foot ceilings, expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, balconies and oversized terraces that overlook the Don Valley.

The Ravine’s York Mills location is the perfect setting for urban dwellers who have a passion for nature but crave the convenience of city living. For quick, convenient trips downtown, the neighbourhood is serviced by major freeways: Don Valley Parkway and Hwy 401, strategically located south of the bottleneck at the DVP/401 interchange. Transit access downtown is simple with the TTC Don Valley/Downtown Express bus that stops directly in front of the building’s doorstep – a 30-minute commute that’s actually faster than the subway ride from nearby condos on the Sheppard Line.

Aside from efficient transportation to the downtown core, the area offers amenities ranging from convenience shops, grocery stores and a bounty of options. The Cecconi Simone-designed Party Room Lounge will cater to the entertainer, with a distinctive horizontal fireplace, multiple lounge areas and an adjoining Dining Room Bar and Servery Kitchen. The Lounge opens to a large Patio for outdoor socializing and dining.

Also on the main floor, the resident will enjoy a Fitness Centre, Golf Simulator, and Dog Washing Bay. The multiple outdoor spaces have been designed to integrate with the surroundings and take advantage of the unmatched ambience of the natural environment. Residents can take in the view of Toronto’s skyline on the Rooftop Terrace, which includes a sun deck, lounge seating, fire pit, barbeque station, and outdoor TV, and a one-of-akind outdoor Yoga Studio in a quiet area of its own.
