TUNNEL VISION

An installation of light and sound guides visitors to a shopping area at Austria’s newly reopened Swarovski Kritallwelten.

It was designed by Snøhetta, an international architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and brand design office based in Oslo, Norwayand New York City and studios in San Francisco, California, Innsbruck, Austria, and Singapore. Craig Edward Dykers and Kjetil Trædal Thorsen are the two founding partners of the company. Snøhetta has approximately 150 designers working on projects around the world.

Say the designers, “The newly designed shop entrance is crafted as a fascinating installation of light and sound – an emotional and virtual time travel. Kilometres of glowing fibers from a spiral-shaped tunnel lead the visitors into the new shopping area and an interactive sound installation expands the space with an additional acoustic dimension.”
