Ad agencies go MAD for Bartlett & Associates’ design

It has been a whirlwind seven years, with 20 distinguished awards and 75 media appearances worldwide for Bartlett & Associates. Yet despite the depth of work across the corporate, hospitality and residential sectors, one focus area has consistently resonated more than others for the firm. With the recent award of the Lowe Roche agency project, Bartlett has now been involved in a remarkable 18 ad agency projects since 2008, a number of which have been multi-award winners and published in Europe, Asia and North America.

The growing roster of agencies who have chosen Bartlett as their designer includes Saatchi & Saatchi, FUEL Advertising, Edelman PR, DraftFCB (now FCB), Rivet, Olson, BBDO, MacLaren McCann, Porter Novelli, Veritas, JuniperPark, Match Marketing, KBS+P, Nurun, Critical Mass, The & Partnership, Havas and now Lowe Roche.

The first agency Bartlett did – Saatchi & Saatchi Canada’s head office in Toronto – was a stunning win. Bartlett’s brilliant loft-style space in a conventional office tower re-energized ad icon Saatchi & Saatchi Canada’s culture, won six awards, and drove the ad agency to new heights of success. Shortly after the project was completed, client wins in the new space rose to a record 75 per cent of pitches.

Bartlett’s work for Edelman PR produced a gorgeous open-plan office with crayon-coloured, full-height murals that resulted in the highest employee satisfaction rate among all Edelman offices worldwide after the project was completed. Turnover went down by one-third, which yielded savings of up to $200,000 per year. Billable hours went up and there was a significant six-figure revenue increase.

“I am enthusiastic and I listen closely to clients,” says Inger Bartlett, president of the firm. “What I do then is interpret those conversations into design and architectural solutions that evoke a client’s brand while remaining responsive to the bottom line.”
