Moroso participates in DesignHive workspaces in Los Angeles
Commercial real-estate company Brookfield Property Partners LP has unveiled DesignHive, a collection of vertical workspaces in downtown L.A. DesignHive serves as a catalyst and experiential idea generator for office tenants. Six leading architects were asked to create forward-thinking, unique workplaces to demonstrate the importance of design in attracting tenants and retaining a top-quality workforce.
Wolcott, one of the six interior design firms that participated in DesignHive, worked closely with furnishings manufacturer Moroso to create a 4,387-square-foot law office of the future. Envisioned to be a female-owned business, Grey Law Firm, populated by Millennials and Gen Z employees, was to be non-hierarchical, collaborative and mobile.
Moroso, which provides extremely comfortable, internationally recognized, innovative furnishings, was an inspired choice to realize Walcott’s vision for “Home-ing from Work.” Now that anyone can work from anywhere, it is more important than ever to create a comfortable environment that encourages social connections and desire to stick around.
At Grey, there are no assigned desks. Comfortable seating, including Highlands, Bohemian chaise and M.A.S.S.A.S by Patricia Urquiola provide ample gathering space for casual meetings, or places to check in with mobile devices. The residentially inspired reception area, featuring Fjord bar stools, doubles as place for people to gather, like a bar or lounge.
The main conference room, where a small-scaled Silver Lake lounge chair is placed, has virtual-reality conferencing capability. While enclosed, it is smaller than is typical today.
The Flex room provides space for personal growth, education and wellness, with virtual-reality walls that change colour with the push of a button depending on the needs such as a yoga room, workout space, emergency childcare, or movie projection.
