Gunlocke received three prestigious awards at NeoCon 2015

At NeoCon 2015, the Gunlocke Company revealed four new product introductions that exemplify its evolution beyond the private office into the larger workplace, and the design industry took notice. Two notable architecture and design publications recognized the industry-leading contract furniture manufacturer for product excellence for three of the new introductions.

Both the company’s new Avoca Swivel/Guest Chair and Urbana Lounge Collection respectively received Silver “Best of NeoCon” awards in the yearly program sponsored by Contract magazine. The awards honour new, exemplary commercial interiors products. Avoca’s simple, elegant and clean lines wowed the judges, while Urbana impressed with its mix of careful tailoring and inviting comfort. Both Avoca and Urbana were designed by Kevin Stark, V-P, Design, HNI Contract Furniture Group.

The new Convo Barstool, designed by Alyssa Coletti of Nonfiction Creative, received a “Metropolis Likes” award at the show. This program from Metropolis magazine highlights products editors feel are “beautiful, useful and brilliant.” Convo’s sleek, tailored and clean design fit the bill this year, plus provided a surprising comfort factor uncommon for a barstool.

“Our customers are passionate about the message their workspaces convey not only to their customers, but to their people,” says Gunlocke president Don Mead. “While we still maintain our position as a leader in the private office space, we’ve evolved beyond those four walls to provide enduring and refined solutions for more collaborative tasks, offering furniture that can support almost an entire floor plate. We are so honored to have this evolution not just recognized, but also celebrated, by the design industry at this important event.”
