Known for its European bathroom fixtures and furnishings, GODI launches in Canada

Some big news for the smallest room in the house: GODI is pleased to announce its arrival in Canada, and with it, a sense of fun and European style in bathroom furniture that so often goes missing in traditional vanities and ceramic products. “We’re creating a completely different bathroom experience,” says Katerina Zherinova, president and co-founder of Dezign Market, based in Vaughan (adjacent to Toronto), exclusive GODI Canadian importer and distributor. Explaining the inspiration for bringing GODI to Canada, she says, “Customers had often complained about the sameness of the offerings that were readily available when they wanted to create a more lively, ‘artistic’ bathroom. I saw a gap in the market between typically boring North American box vanities and the bolder, more creative and glamorous – but quite expensive – European imports. GODI fills this niche. In that sense, GODI is unique.”

GODI is Italian for “enjoys” or “savours.” The name also pays homage to Catalonian art nouveau architect Antoni Gaudí. The sensuous, organic curving shapes in his iconic Barcelona projects – such as Casa Milà, Park Güell and the Sagrada Família church – inspired the products’ innovative profiles.

The product offering, created exclusively for GODI by Italian designers, ranges in style from elegant traditional to sophisticated transitional and contemporary European. The showroom in Vaughan, adjacent to Toronto, is open to the trade by appointment. An  expanding network of high-end retailers in the Toronto area includes Amati Bath Centre, in Thornhill; Atlantis Bath Centre, in Woodbridge; and Bathroom & Kitchen Galleries, in St. Catharines.
