On October 21, Ron Gilad, an internationally celebrated designer and artist, will discuss his artistic and commercial work with DX President and CEO, Shauna Levy. Gilad will provide insight into his creative process and how his products have been formed by his notion of home and how he strikes a fine balance between the abstract and the functional.
After spending some years in New York, Gilad now lives and works in Milan and Tel Aviv, where he was born. His hybrid objects for such furniture brands as Flos, Adele-C, Nodus, and Molteni&C combine real wit with aesthetic play. His works have been exhibited at Tel Aviv Museum of Art and New York’s Museum of Modern Art and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 2013 he received the Wallpaper Design Award and the Elle Décor International Award.
