Panasonic launches new division that will target home building and renovation industry
Panasonic Canada Inc. has launched the Home + Building Solutions division, which will offer a wide-range of quality products designed to meet the needs of the Canadian home building and renovation industry. Representing 17 per cent of Panasonic’s global business, or approximately CDN$16 billion, housing is a core component of the company’s DNA. With the launch of this division, Panasonic Canada will bring the housing legacy to Canada through extensive partnerships and product offerings from premium appliances to storage and organization solutions.
“Our research shows that home builders need reliable partners to help them educate and inform new home buyers about quality products, as well as provide continued support once those products are installed,” said Michael Moskowitz, President of Panasonic Canada. “We see an opportunity to work collaboratively with businesses in the home building industry and share our expertise as the housing market evolves around areas such as sustainability and building efficiencies.”
Bringing Expertise to Canada To support the launch of the Home + Building Solutions division Panasonic recently unveiled a Housing Solutions Centre of Excellence at their Mississauga headquarters. The Centre highlights Panasonic’s leadership in technology, design and smart innovation, and will be a resource for Canadian architects, designers, builders and developers. Industry events at the Centre will be announced throughout 2016.
The Centre features a wide range of residential products that will be of interest to the home building industry, including:
- Storage and Organization Solutions
- Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning
- Premium Appliances
- Security and Surveillance Systems
- Residential Solar and Energy Storage
- Framing, Insulation & Plumbing
“The Home + Building Solutions division is a key part of Panasonic Canada’s shifting presence and expansion beyond consumer electronics into a wide array of key categories – paralleling the priorities of Panasonic as a global brand,” said Moskowitz.
Solutions in Action Panasonic is currently working with premium home builders in Canada to offer standard and custom home features across all categories. Working with national home developer LIV Communities, based in Burlington, Ontario, a wide range of products have been installed through the “LIV better with Panasonic” program. In addition to ventilation systems and home monitoring, buyers are able to purchase storage and organization systems, and premium appliances to customize their homes.
In collaboration with Royalpark Homes, an Ontario-based residential developer, Panasonic offers a Residential Solar and Energy Storage system that includes all of the components needed to capture solar energy and store electricity for later use. Royalpark was the first home builder to offer a Residential Solar and Energy Storage system as part of new home construction in the community of Simcoe Shores in Barrie, Ontario.
“With the tremendous diversity of buyers who are purchasing homes at different life stages home owners come to buying decisions with differing sets of expectations. As a result of our research we have identified, and are bringing to market, innovative solutions that meet the lifestyle needs of today’s homeowner as well as the challenges of the residential builder and condo developer,” commented Moskowitz.
