Studio Munge only Canadian recipient in IIDA’s 43rd Interior Design Competition

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) has announced the winners of the 43rd Interior Design Competition and 24th Will Ching Design Competition, which honour outstanding, innovative, and original design. The Interior Design Competition is open to interior design/architecture projects completed by firms of any size, and the Will Ching Design Competition celebrates commercial interior design projects from firms of five employees or fewer.

“The Interior Design Competition, as well as the Will Ching Design Competition, honours the highest level of design achievement from firms whose innovation and creative execution pushes the boundaries of what interior environments can achieve. We are so pleased to once again recognize projects that positively impact the lives of those who use the spaces and inspire the design community-at-large,” said IIDA executive vice president and CEO Cheryl S. Durst.

Jurors for both competitions included Mari Balestrazzi (vice president, Design Services, Hyatt Hotels Corporation); Anne Cunningham (principal, NBBJ Architects); and Scott Hierlinger (Design Director, Nelson).

“This year, the Interior Design Competition and Will Ching Design Competition both attracted a number of sophisticated interior design projects from firms around the world,” said Hierlinger on behalf of the judges. “The winners of this year’s competitions illustrated creative, thoughtful solutions and elevated aesthetics – representing the best in international interior design.”
