B&V and edeestudio win award for ZIP armchair

The armchair ZIP, designed by Valencian-based edeestudio and manufactured by Spain’s B&V, has taken the Golden A’ Design Award in the Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category.

Held with the support of the Bureau of European Design Associations among other patrons and delivered in Como (Italy), these awards recognize the quality of the design of Zip, which stands out for its lightness and functionality.

“Zip is a piece that seeks to catch your eye,” says Eduardo Alcón, the designer of the Zip collection, alongside his partner Esther Albert at edeestudio. “Zip stands out for the round shape of the arms and backrest and the care put in the woodworking of its base.”

“Last year, B&V launched an armchair version, a loveseat and a méridienne. 2016 adds a 3 seater sofa to the collection allowing different layout alternatives according to the space” explains Alcón.

Also nominated for the German Design Awards 2016, Zip can be customized with a wide range of fabric and matching or contrast colour zipper hidden bindings. The same applies to the colour of its base, choosing stained or paint finishes. Matching coffee tables complete the collection.
