Calgary interior decorator wins two International Design Awards
Design professional Katie Rioux, owner of Decorating Den Interiors in Calgary, Alberta received two Top Design awards in her company’s International Design Contest for outstanding work. With over 300 entries, the awards were presented at Decorating Den Interiors 47th annual conference held recently in San Antonio, Texas.
Rioux was awarded first place prize for her room makeover in the Office category. She was also awarded 3rd place in the Living Room category. Rioux’s 1st place Office Dream Room was judged second best among all of the first place winners in twelve categories. This awarded her Second Runner Up-Decorator of the year.
Additionally, Rioux received a Prism Award for being in the top 20 Franchises for sales achievements, and a Premier Club Award for a new milestone in cumulative sales.
This was the company’s 32nd annual International Dream Room awards competition. Winners were selected based on their design excellence, creative problem solving and overall presentation.
Decorating Den Interiors’ room makeovers have been featured in such publications as Good Housekeeping, Canadian House and Home, Better Homes and Gardens, Woman’s Day, House Beautiful, House and Garden, and Arabella. In addition, the company has been featured in a variety of design segments on HGTV and The Discovery Channel. Decorating Den Interiors was founded in 1969 and has Interior Design professionals and decorators throughout the U.S and Canada. Rioux has owned her franchise since 2000.
