SapientNitro opens new Toronto office

SapientNitro, part of Publicis.Sapient, has announced the official opening of its new Toronto office located in Allied REIT’s flagship QRC West building at 134 Peter St. The occasion was marked by a showcase of some of the global digital marketing agency’s most innovative work in virtual reality, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT).

SapientNitro has been operating in Canada since 2000, helping to transform the businesses of iconic global brands by identifying where powerful storytelling and innovative technology meet. High-profile regional clients include Canadian companies such as Cadillac Fairview, Holt Renfrew and Loblaw.

“For the past 16 years, we have been committed to serving our existing clients in Canada and expanding our presence in the region,” said Alyssa Altman, vice-president and managing director, SapientNitro Canada. “With this new space, we are in a better position to meet demand for our services both locally and globally.”

The facility centralizes the agency’s hundreds of creative, technology and business services professionals based in Toronto. It was specifically designed to include features and functionality that encourage constructive collisions of people and ideas. For example, the office is home to a three-floor interactive digital display lining one side of the internal stairwell, encouraging the team to ideate and create open-source experiences.

“We designed this space to inspire new thinking and promote collaboration. We want it to be ‘The Kinetic Office: Where ideas collide,’ said Howie Howatson, executive creative director of SapientNitro Canada, and the project lead for the new office. “We believe that with the right elements, and the right energy, in the right conditions, successful collisions can occur. It’s a workspace free of barriers, free of silos, where the flow of movement encourages talent from all disciplines, experience levels and backgrounds to collide and collaborate to develop the ideas that shape our industry.”

The LEED Gold certified building floats above the old garment district factory buildings. The building features a juxtaposition of historic Toronto, and a modern office tower that was designed and built using strategies aimed at achieving high performance in key areas of human and environmental health.
