Third Annual DXV Competition challenges designers to tell a “Canadian story”

DXV, LIXIL Water Technology Americas’ portfolio of luxury bath and kitchen products, has announced the third annual DXV Design Competition, running from October 17, 2016 until December 2, 2016.

The DXV Design Competition is an exciting and distinct opportunity for both established and emerging designers to showcase their talent and creativity – with an interesting twist. This year, designers are challenged to envision a Canadian city and recreate an interior space that tells the story of that city’s heritage and cultural landmarks. All designs must include a minimum of three products from any of the DXV collections.

One Grand Prize winning design will be showcased in the LIXIL booth at 2017 IDS Toronto and IDS West in Vancouver. The Grand Prize will also include airfare and accommodations to attend both shows in Toronto and Vancouver, professional photography of the winning design, $5000 worth of DXV product and design credit on all DXV social media channels. Secondary prizes include DXV product.

“We’re excited that our theme is uniquely Canadian this year, and can’t wait to see the creative location-inspired designs,” said Isabel Carvalhana, Product and Marketing Manager, DXV. “The Canadian design industry continues to thrive and this competition is a great opportunity for designers to showcase their imagination using DXV collections.”

Last year’s winner, Lianna Armstrong, created a whimsical design influenced by the fantasy series “The Chronicles of Narnia”. Armstrong, owner of Evolve Designs in Vancouver, has nearly 15 years experience in the industry. Her playful design demonstrated the uniqueness of the Design Competition, offering designers to promote their creativity and talent.

The DXV Design Competition began on October 17, 2016 and closes on December 2, 2016. Judging will take place by December 9th. For full details, including rules and regulations, visit www.dxvdesigncompetition.com.
