Awards deadlines coming up ahead of Coverings 2018
Returning to Atlanta in May, North America’s largest tile and stone show will host a diverse array of awards programs this year. Coverings 2018 will present the Atlanta Student Design Competition, as well as Coverings’ own CID Awards, and the fourth annual emerging ‘Rock Stars’ competition.
2018 Rock Stars — An emerging leaders program honouring the best and brightest young industry talent. Individuals under the age of 35 and currently employed by or as an architect, designer, distributor, retailer, contractor/installer, fabricator, specifier, trade association, or manufacturer in the tile or stone industry are eligible for the award, and must be nominated by a colleague who is also active within the industry. Nominations are due by February 5.
2018 Coverings Installation and Design (CID) Awards — Celebrating achievements in design and installation of tile and stone products in both residential and commercial projects, the CID Awards is open to architects, designers, builders, contractors, distributors, retailers, installers and other professionals whose work demonstrates design or installation excellence. A grand prize of $3,000 will be awarded to one project showcasing excellence in both design and installation, and eight category winners will each receive a prize of $2,000. All winners will receive a one-night stay in Atlanta to attend Coverings 2018 and will be recognized at a CID Awards reception.
Atlanta Student Design Competition — Coverings has partnered with the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs to develop a student competition that will create three artistic public benches for the City of Atlanta. The competition is accepting submissions through March 1, 2018, 11:59 pm, and is open to any Atlanta-area graduate and undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in an interior design, architecture or studio arts program. Three winning structures will receive cash prizes and be built for display at Coverings 2018 from May 8-11, 2018. Winning structures will be placed in a park in Atlanta following the show.
Registration for Coverings 2018 is now also open. More information about the show — and the 2018 Awards program — is available here.
