IDC launches ‘PROpel’ competition for emerging design professionals
Set to be presented at this year’s inaugural Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) national conference in Toronto, the new PROpel interactive national design competition provides an opportunity for emerging professionals to engagement in discussions and connections with influential representatives in the interior design community.
The prize includes accommodation, transportation, meals and activities during the conference. Winners will be
able to bring a design mentor who will join them at the conference and various activities. Winners will also receive exposure through the conference and will be featured in IDC’s newsletter, on IDC’s website and social media, and will have a chance to win the title of ‘PROpel VIP’ at the conference.
A jury comprised of industry, design professionals, and IDC representatives will be announced in spring. The jury will review all valid entries after each deadline date. Proposals will be judged based on the following criteria:
1. Degree of innovation
2. Theme representation
3. Emotional content
4. Letter of support (mentor)
If you’re an IDC intern member or a student in an interior design program, you are eligible to participate in PROpel
and compete for a chance to win a two-day all-expense-paid trip to the first IDC national conference in Toronto. PROpel entries are accepted in the summer months, with the conference following in the Fall. The deadline for the first round of submissions is June 15.
