EMBLM: New office furniture distribution started in Montreal
The winds of consolidation are blowing through the office furniture distribution business with the creation of a new flagship company named EMBLM, bringing together some 90 professionals in the office furniture and architectural wall industries.

They are with MAB Profil in Quebec City, BNM in Sherbrooke, Buromax in Trois-Rivières and Solutions Zoom in Laval. Patrick Morissette, MAB Profil’s owner, kicked off the wave of acquisitions in early 2017. The group’s newly minted name, EMBLM, reflects its determination to highlight its suppliers’ brands. They are a signature, a hallmark, a stamp: an emblem.

“Our goals are clear: we want to become more competitive and more attractive by leveraging a broader portfolio of products, and join the ranks of the leading industry players so as to better reach our target customer group,” says Patrick Morissette, President of EMBLM. “Given that we are on an incredibly competitive playing field, creating synergies between our different companies will help us optimize our business processes and deliver service quality that meets the highest industry standards, right across Québec.”

Quality work environments are a way to attract and retain personnel. In this era characterized by scarcity of specialized labour, EMBLM helps its customers and the design community create inspiring work spaces.

Designed by Toan Nguyen, Infinito is extremely versatile. Infinito brings a traditional lounge look with a not-so-classic feel to any scenario.
EMBLM is active throughout Québec as well as elsewhere in Canada and in the United States. The company is headquartered in Québec City.
- MAB Profil, founded in 1975, has close to 50 employees and offices in Québec City, Lévis and Saint-Georges serving customers in the Québec City, Beauce and Chaudière-Appalaches regions.
- Solutions Zoom, with 14 employees and 20 or so independent-contractor installers, was founded in 2007. With its location in Laval, it is well positioned to serve customers in metropolitan Montréal.
- Sherbrooke-based BNM has 13 employees and was originally a family-run business founded in 1984. Its market is the Estrie region.
- Buromax, in Trois-Rivières, has been in business since 1975 and employs a dozen seasoned experts who work in the Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec regions.
EMBLM aims to excel in a market segment made up essentially of independent players. With six places of business, in the Montréal, Mauricie, Estrie, Beauce, Lévis and Québec City regions, they deliver localized service covering most of Québec, which gives them a real competitive advantage. They are also proud to offer all of their customers products from Québec and Canadian manufacturers, and in so doing to contribute to the growth of the local economy
